Speed Violations in North Brentwood & State of MD

The Town has always followed state law. The state has repealed the limit of a blanket $40 fine, per speeding violation (regardless of speed), as of October 1, 2025.

A North Brentwood speed citation is still $40, if a person is going fewer than 12-15 miles per hour above the speed limit.

However, if a driver exceeds a speed limit by more than 12-15 miles per hour, the fine increases depending on the speed.
 

The Town currently has two speed cameras, going north and south on
Rhode Island Avenue: 
Northbound - 4505 Rhode Island Ave
Southbound - 4600 Rhode Island Ave
