About the event

Make it a Day On, Not a Day Off

Martin Luther King Jr. Day is January 20 each year. The federal holiday honors MLK, Jr., who was born Jan. 15, 1929, with opportunities for people to serve and give back to their communities. This year, however, January 20 happens to be the same day as Inauguration Day, which means crowds, road closures and Metro station shut down on Sunday and Monday.
